Nope. I was unaware of the situation about Shepherd ears until just recently.
Normally, when they are born, their ears are down and all-floppy. Several months later, their ears pop up on their own.
Sometimes they don't pop up. So they taped them up with masking tape or something until they stay up on their own.
Sarge's ears were born up. So we haven't had to do anything to them.
Heh - those picutres take me back to the time when my dad got his first German Shepherd. The dog's ears were down, and someone said to tape them, but (as you might notice with your dog), Shepherd pups like to sleep on their back a lot, and as such I think it helps facilitate the 'standing up' of the ears - this is what our dogs did. We never had to tape the ears on any of our dogs, but I guess some do have troubles with it.
Rob,
Thanks for visiting. I checked out your blog and it looks interesting. I'll have to spend some more time there.
Daniel
